Vaulting at Kerrabee

Introduction

Vaulting is defined as "Gymnastics on the moving horse" and the National Equestrian Centre is the local centre for vaulting in the A.C.T. Vaulting combines many skills with performances choreographed to music. Flexibility, strength, coordination, team work and horsemanship are all important skills developed through vaulting. It is a great opportunity to gain the connection and advantages of working with a horse while not requiring a vaulter to own their own horse.

The Vaulters

Vaulters at the National Equestian Centre participate in individual, team and pas de deux classes. All vaulters have the opportunity to participate in competitions throughout Australia. Vaulters train in evening sessions during the week and on Sundays. The National Equestrian Centre offers training up to international standard with some vaulters obtaining international rankings.
Tristyn Lowe, Karen Marsh, Bronwen Lowe, Joanne Lee and Rebecca Hillman are the current coaches. Tristyn, Browen and Karen are all NCAS EFA instructors. Current vaulters range in age from 10 to 27.

Competition

The NEqC Team competes regularly throughout Australia as well as running local competitions.
